Hi, my name is Anne. I’ve known Paul for 13 years, and I’ve been with New Path since the company formed.

Sadly, I lost my husband suddenly; he died in service, and as a result of that, I had a bit of money to invest and do something with. Paul was recommended to me and came to see me to offer some advice as to what I should do with the money.

I hadn’t had any contact with a financial adviser before. My husband worked for an insurance company, and he’d always dealt with financial matters in the home, and so my meeting with Paul was crucial, really, as far as my financial planning was concerned.

I feel that I can trust Paul. I trust him with my personal information, my life, and I know that he’s looking out for me; I’ve always felt that. He’s friendly, we have a laugh together – he’s got a great sense of humour, and he also seems very confident in knowing what is best for me and what the future might hold.

I don’t worry about my financial future because I know that Paul is very capable of predicting what I might need in the future. We often talk about how life and circumstances change as you get older. So, I have every confidence in Paul. He knows how old I am and what might lie ahead, and I’m sure that he will be looking at ways to change things according to my life.

There are two “best” pieces of advice that Paul has given me over the years. The first one was how to deal with the money that I inherited when my husband died. It was quite a significant amount of money, and he advised me to invest in a bond, which I still have. The other bit of advice that Paul always gives me is that I need to spend my money. I tend to be quite risk-averse, but he reassures me that things are okay and that I can spend my money and go on holiday.

I always look forward to Paul coming to the house. He’s got to know me and my family quite well. He now advises my new partner, my son, and one of my brothers, which is really nice. I’d have no qualms recommending Paul to anybody. We chat about all sorts of things, and after 13 years, I look forward to seeing him.
